The Great Plains College SunDogs men's and women's volleyball teams opened their 2011 Prairie Athletic Conference season Wednesday at home against the SIAST Palliser Panthers.
The SunDogs women took the first game in their best-of-five match to extra points, but eventually fell in three straight sets 24-26, 16-25, 19-25.
The SunDogs men also dropped their first set but rallied to win the next three and take the match 23-25, 25-21, 25-18, 27-25. GPC was down 16-19 at one point in the final set before scoring 11 of the next 17 points.
The SunDogs return to action Oct. 12 in Pambrun against the Millar Edge, and return home Oct. 14 and 15 for a pair of matches against the Bethany Eagles.
