Year two of the Great Plains College Sundogs Junior Volleyball program is in the books.
Over 85 male and female athletes were a part of teams that attended club and provincial tournaments across Saskatchewan this spring.
Great Plains College Athletic Director, Mary Jane Benesh, says the junior club enjoyed the involvement of current coaches and players from the senior Sundogs.
"We had many of our players this year coaching," says Benesh. "I believe there was almost five or six of our athletes that played on our current teams last year that helped coach. Some of our assistant coaches with our men's program helped out with coaching. It's just a great relationship that we have."
The involvement has paid dividends as two female athletes have confirmed they will attend the college next year and play volleyball for the senior squad.
