The Swift Current 57's third win of their brief three-game streak was the most convincing of the trio, as they blasted the Regina Red Sox 9-0 last night at Mitchell Field.

After a 7-4 win over the Weyburn Beavers and 5-4 walk-off win over the Moose Jaw Miller Express to start the streak, the 57's used four run innings in the third and eighth for the convincing win against the Red Sox.

It was also a revenge game of sorts for Swift Current, who fell by that same 9-0 score to the Red Sox in their previous meeting on July 4 in the provincial capital.

Last night's game saw first baseman Bo McClintock lead the charge offensively once again. He ripped a bases-loaded double in the eighth inning to clear the bags for his team-leading 34th, 35th, and 36th RBI of the season.

Jerad Dokey and Blake Adams chipped in with two-hit efforts.

Starter Joey Machado shone in the win going six innings, giving up just three hits, walking two, and striking out six Red Sox batters.

Aaron Pugh came on in relief of Machado, tossing a scoreless seventh frame.

Pitching the final two innings was yet another returnee from the 57's 2017 WMBL championship-winning roster.

Closer/third baseman Keil Krumwiede allowed just one hit in his 2018 debut.

He joins outfielders Blake Adams and Nick Canas as returnees currently on the roster.

The surging 57's climbed to .500 (17-17) as well in the win, and now sit just one game back of the Miller Express (17-15) for third in the WMBL's Eastern Division.

They look to make it four straight wins and jump above that .500 mark in a Friday night contest on the road against the Brooks Bombers at 7:05 p.m.
