Tuesday night was the 3rd annual AGM and Awards Banquet for Swift Current minor baseball and was held at the auditorium in the iPlex.

One hundred fifteen people were on hand to watch Kevin Patenaude and Kyle McIntyre give out awards to those who earned it throughout the baseball season.

Awards were given out to the MVP’s of each age group, as well the best umpires, coaches, and volunteers.

Kevin Patenaude, president of Swift Current Minor Baseball, spoke about how the Bantam team stood out this year as they lost 11-10 in the semifinals to the eventual provincial champions.

"The Bantams did very well, they were very close to getting to the provincial finals, so I think that they were extremely close and a really good young team too, they had youth and competed very well at the AAA level and provincials."

The four players that won the MVP awards were selected from the total of 335 players that played minor ball in Swift Current.
