Two southwest bantam hockey prospects are through to the next stage of the Sask Hockey Association Bantam SaskFirst program.

After the Top 80 tournament was held in Balgonie over the Family Day long weekend, the field was trimmed down to just 27 - three goalies, nine defensemen, and 15 forwards.

Among those 27 prospects are current Pure Chem Bantam AA Broncos goalie Lukas Toth, and former Bantam AA Broncos defenseman Nolan Stevenson.

Toth is the Bantam Broncos' starter, having logged time in the crease in 16 of 27 games this season. The Swift Current product has an 11-3 record, a 4.23 goals-against-average, and .881 save-percentage, along with a shutout on the season.

His Bantam AA Broncos are 18-9-0-0 and in third place in the SBAAHL's South Division standings.

Stevenson, meanwhile, had two goals and eight points in 29 games with the Bantam AA Broncos last year.

This year though, the Shaunavon product is playing his WHL Draft-eligible season with the Notre Dame Hounds at the Bantam AAA level in the CSSHL.

Stevenson has three goals in 24 games, and his 17 points rank him tied for tops among defensemen on the Hounds.

Though dates and a location have yet to be set, Toth and Stevenson will be at the SaskFirst Male U16 Summer Camp vying for a spot on Team Sask.
