The Swift Current Comp squad took the Jr Boys Gold after an undefeated stint.

"It feels good - it was our first SWAC title so it was good," said Swift's Skip, Beau Cornelson.

They started off with a win over Maple Creek.

"t was our first win so we felt pretty confident going into our second game," Cornelson said.

Game 2 saw a closer test for the Swift Current squad against Hazlet.

"In the last end we kind of got unlucky, but we got it back in the extra end," explained Cornelson, adding that the confidence continued to build ahead of the finals as the top seed in the Boys' bracket.

"We played good against Hazlet and going into the final we knew we had a pretty good chance because the B-side winner had to beat us twice and we only had to beat them once."

That B-side winner was Frontier, who the Colts managed to emerge victorious over in just one game.

"Yeah it was pretty calm, we felt pretty good through that game - we made most of our shots, there's a few mistakes there, but we did good." said the District-winning skip.
