SWT Broncos' goalie Chase Coward turned in a strong performance in Sunday's win

The SWT Pee Wee Broncos welcomed the Melville Millionaires to the Fairview Arenas for a pair of crucial mid-season games.

Entering the weekend, the Broncos sat first place in league standings, just one point ahead of second place Melville.

Beginning the two game weekend set Saturday night, it did not take long for the Broncos to get on the board.

Just twelve seconds into the game Hayden Wilm put Swift Current out in front 1-0.

Noah Wills then added to the Swift Current lead just under three minutes later.

The game remained 2-0 for most of the first period, however Melville cut the lead in half with a power play goal in the final four minutes of the frame.

Then, just when it appeared the score would be 2-1 heading into the first intermission, the Broncos restored their two goal lead as Keagon Little found the back of the net with 29 seconds left in the period.

A second period Melville goal would make the score 3-2 in favour of Swift Current, but a pair of third period goals, one from Kalan Lind and one from Rohan Priebe put the game away, as the Broncos went on to win 5-3.

In Sunday's contest, neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first period, but then Swift Current had an offensive eruption in the second.

Joe Arntsen, Kalan Lind, Ryan McCleary and Rhys O'Neill all scored in the second to build Swift Curent a 4-0 lead.

The offense then continued in the third as Hayden Wilm, Rohan Priebe, Cash Arntsen and Joe Arnsten all scored.

Melville also managed a goal in the third as the game finished 8-1.

With the pair of wins, Swift Current now leads the Millionaires by five points for the top spot in league standings with two games in hand on Melville as well.

The Broncos next league action will be January 9 in Regina.
