With training Camp only weeks away the Saskatchewan Roughriders continue to prepare for what they hope will be a turn-around 2012 season.

2011 saw the team post a league-worst 5 and 13 record.

Once you get past started Darian Durant, the team will look different at the Quarterback position.

"The challenge that you have when you (upgrade your depth at QB) is that you have to weight the experience factor compared to the ability factor" said Riders GM Brendan Taman. "We sort of took a different approach than we had in the past. We sort of took out the experience factor and went and rolled the dice a little bit on guys who hadn't been up here but have some ability. We're pretty comfortable with where we're at right now."[CLIP]

University of Hawaii stand-out Colt Brennan, NFL veteran J.T. O'Sullivan, Drew Willy and Levi Brown will all be vying for the spot behind Durant this season.

Taman doesn't expect their recent draft class to have much of an impact on their success this season.

"Anytime you go into a draft it's very rare you're going to get a guy that's going to come in and start for you right away and be an impact player," Taman said. "You build up your depth. Last year looking back at our draft we were able to get three or four guys that made our team. When you look at (Ben) Heenan... and the other kids, I think we're building our depth and it takes time for these guys... the word is develop."

Rookie Camp opens on Wednesday May 30th and runs until Friday June 1st with the Veterans set to join camp on Saturday the 2nd.
