The break from hockey was a short one, as the World Junior Hockey Championships officially kick off this afternoon with Canada taking to the ice.
They face off with Finland in a matchup that you can catch on The Eagle 94.1 starting at 2:00 pm.
For Canada, they'll be hungry to once again reach gold after back to back silver medals, including last year's heartbreaking loss in the Gold medal game that included former Swift Current Bronco, Cody Eakin.
Meanwhile, as the World Juniors get underway local hockey is also back this week following a brief Christmas break, as the Swift Current Broncos return to action tomorrow night against the Prince Albert Raiders.
The Broncos currently trail Calgary by just 2 points for the 8th place in the Eastern Conference.
If you can't make it down to the rink, tune in to all the action on The Eagle 94.1 with Shawn Mullin starting at 6:30 pm for the pre-game show. Puck drops at 7:05 pm.
