Thienes

Shaunavon's Wendy Thienes is still looking for her first win at the Viterra Scotties in Assiniboia.

She dropped to 0-3 at the Provincial Women's Curling Championship with a 12-4 loss to Saskatoon's Trish Paulsen, and an 8-4 setback against defending champion Stefanie Lawton. Thienes sits well back of a playoff position in the standings, with only the top two teams of each six-team pool advancing to Saturday's page playoffs.

Other action from Thursday had seven-time provincial champion Michelle Englot beat Shalon Fleming 6-4 to stay unbeaten at 2-0 along with Lawton and Paulsen.

The Thienes rink will take on Biggar's Brett Barber this morning and Saskatoon's Jessica Hanson tonight to wrap up round-robin.
