Nick Schneider made 34 saves as the Medicine Hat Tigers shut the Swift Current Broncos out 2-0 Friday night.

"We're getting the pucks to the right spot," said Broncos associate coach Ryan Smith. "We're getting up to our D and they're not getting it through. We're getting a look on the power play and we're passing instead of shooting. It's the next play after the puck gets to the right spot."

The offensive game has slowed a little bit for the Broncos lately with only three goals in their last three games.

With a lack of scoring lately comes a little less confidence making decisions with the puck.

"At times we were a little bit sloppy with the puck," Smith noted. "We mismanaged it. Our passing, our receiving and we skated over some pucks. We just didn't make plays when they were there."

"At this level you've got to be able to make a pass and you've got to be able to receive a pass."

The tight game moved Medicine Hat's way midway through the second period.

Matt Bradley pulled the Tigers ahead with a shorthanded goal as he cut wide and put a wrap-around home for his 20th of the season.

Chad Butcher then converted a breakaway just after coming out of the penalty box on another Medicine Hat man advantage.

Taz Burman made 29 saves in a losing cause.

Swift Current is now eleven points back of Edmonton for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with only eleven games left to play.

They host Calgary Saturday night and you can hear the game live at 6:30pm on The Eagle 94.1 FM. Puck drop is just after 7pm at the Credit Union iPlex.
