The Swift Current Indians dropped 2 of their 3 games played over the weekend.

The Tribe were in Yorkton on Saturday, as the Indians and Cardinals competed in 2, 7-inning games, after being rained out on Friday.

In game 1, Swift Current was unable to get any offence going, falling 6-0 to Yorkton.

The Tribe managed just 4 hits in the game and were only able to get a runner to 3rd base once.

For the Cardinals, all of the damage was done in the 4th inning.

Leading 1-0, Yorkton broke things open, cashing in 5-runs in the inning.

Swift Current starting pitcher Nelson Quark was unable to find his command during the pivotal 4th. Quark issued a lead-off walk, then surrendered a single, before walking 2 more batters, bringing an end to Quark's night.

Reliever Andrew Malone entered the game for Swift Current, but he also struggled to find the plate. Malone issued walks to the first 2 batters he faced, scoring 2 Yorkton runs, before giving up a RBI single and a sacrifice fly.

In game 2 of the double-header, the Tribe turned their fortunes around.

Trailing 1-0 in the 6th inning, Swift Current's Nick Day hit a solo homerun to tie the game up, 1-1. Then in the final inning, Kevin Czarnecki put the Tribe out in front with a 2-out, 3-run homerun.

Starting pitcher Justin Disbro went the distance for the Indians. Disbro surrendered an unearned run on 6 hits and a walk, while striking out 5.

On Sunday, Swift Current could not find a way to win their 2nd straight game, when they took on the Regina Red Sox.

The Tribe fell behind Regina early, trailing 3-0 after 4 innings.

Despite the deficit, Swift Current battled back, scoring single runs in the final 5 innings of the game.

Unfortunately, for the Indians the 5 runs were not enough, as Regina scored 1 run in the 6th and 8th inning, before walking the Tribe off with a 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the 9th.

Swift Current will now turn their attention to the Lethbridge Bulls. The Tribe will travel to Lethbridge on Canada Day for a double-header against the Bulls, before returning to Mitchell Field on Thursday.
