The Swift Current Indians have now lost three of their last five after a 5-3 extra innings loss to the Okotoks Dawgs last night at Mitchell Field.  It was their 2nd loss in as many nights.

The Indians scored two in the first inning to take the early lead thanks to some shoddy defensive play.  Okotoks rallied back and eventually took a 3-2 lead in the 8th inning on a solo HR.    Conrad Funk's RBI double tied it 3-3 in the bottom of the 8th and eventually the game was off to extra innings.

Okotoks scored two in the 10th for the 5-3 win.  The Indians had the tying run on base in the 10th but couldn't cash in.  The Indians left 10 base runners stranded.

"We're fine, no worries," commented a somewhat irritated Coach Joe Carnahan post-game when questioned about the two-game Okotoks sweep.

"The bottom line is we have some guys injured and nicked up. We're not pressing guys to be injured even further. Our main goal is to be healthy before playoffs.  We have to make sure our guys our healthy. Our goal is to win a  championship."

It was a good crowd of 430 last night to watch the 2nd last game of the regular season.  The Indians host Moose Jaw tonight to wrap up the regular season. Game-time 7:05pm.
