indians walk off
The Swift Current Indians crowded around Tyler Enns after his walk-off single

Playing in their second last home game of the regular season, the Swift Current Indians picked up a victory they hope will help lead them towards the post-season.

Tyler Enns hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 9th inning, as the Indians defeated the Melville Millionaires 6-5 on Wednesday night.

After defeating the Millionaires twice last Sunday, the Tribe rallied from a 5-0 deficit yesterday, picking up their 3rd straight win over Melville.

It was Enns' 18 RBI of the season that cashed in the winning run, and his teammates celebrated by surrounding him on the infield.

Bobby St. Pierre entered the game for Swift Current with 2 out in the top of the 9th. St. Pierre retired the lone batter he faced, which put him in line for the victory, giving       St. Pierre his first win on the mound this season.

With the win, the Tribe moved within 2.5 games of Melville for the final wildcard spot.

Swift Current starting pitcher Aaron Godinez went 5 innings, surrendering 5 runs, 3 of them earned on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 3.

AJ McElderry then delivered 3 2-3 strong innings of relief, as the Indiana native only gave up 2 hits.

Swift Current and Melville will once again take to the field in Swift Current tonight.

First pitch between the Tribe and Millionaires is scheduled for 7:05pm.
