The Tribe and Dawgs in a previous meeting this season

The Swift Current Indians were unable to complete a 2-game sweep over the Okotoks Dawgs yesterday, in Okotoks.

Following a 3-2 win over Okotoks on Tuesday, the Tribe dropped a 6-5 decision to the Dawgs last night.

The Indians jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning, as Darren Kolk scored on a Jose Rojas sacrifice fly, before Taylor Steen cashed in Justin Esquerra with a RBI single.

Swift Current then extended their lead to 3-0 in the 4th, as Kolk came around to score for a 2nd time.

After Okotoks trimmed the lead to 3-2 in the bottom half of the inning, Swift Current came right back in teh 5th, cashing in another 2 runs.

Steen scored on a Andrew Sauceda single, then Nate Ackerman came around to score on a Kevin Czarnecki single.

However, in the bottom of the 5th, the Dawgs took their first lead of the game.

A RBI single and a 3-run homerun put Okotoks up 6-5, a lead they would not relinquish.

The Tribe had 5 men reach base safely over the final 3 innings, but they were unable to cash them in.

Swift Current had plenty of chances to add to their score, however, the team left a total of 12 men on base throughout the game.

Next up for the Tribe will be the beginning of a 4-game homestand, starting tonight.

Swift Current will welcome the Edmonton Prospects to Mitchell Field for a pair of games being played today and tomorrow.

Edmonton currently holds 1 of the 2 wild card spots, and sit 5 games ahead of the Tribe.

First pitch for tonight's game is scheduled for 7:05pm.
