indians 2014

Two big wins for the Swift Current Indians have them back on track as they head toward the end of the regular season.

The Tribe beat the Melville Millionaires 10-4 on Saturday on the strength of 13 team hits and seven strong innings on the mound from Steve Thompson, and then came back from an early 3-0 deficit to beat Medicine Hat 6-4 on Sunday.

Hunter Owen and Liam Goodall each drove in two runs in the win over the Mavericks, and Juan Pizzaro struck out six batters over 6-2/3 innings for the win.

The Indians are two games ahead of Moose Jaw for the Central Division lead heading into the final three games of the season.

Swift Current hosts Yorkton tonight at 7:05pm from Mitchell Field, and then take on the Millers in a home-and-home Tuesday and Wednesday.
