Fans are being encouraged to "Pack The Park" at tomorrow night's game

It's been just under 10 months since the Swift Current Indians fell 6-3 to the Medicine Hat Mavericks, losing the WMBL Championship series 3 games to 1. Tomorrow, the Tribe will take step one in an attempt to return to the league final and claim the WMBL title.

The Swift Current Indians will open up their season hosting one of their Trans-Canada Highway rivals, the Moose Jaw Miller Express, which will mark the start of an early 3-game homestand.

Following Friday night's game, the Tribe will once again host the Miller Express on Saturday, before hosting Weyburn on Sunday.

Plenty of optimism is surrounding this year's team following their off-season additions.

Playing with the Indians this year, will be, Infielder Kevin Czarnecki, who put up impressive offensive numbers playing at Fort Hays State in Kansas. In his senior year at Fort Hays, the Edmonton native posted a .415 average, hitting 12 home runs, while knocking in 41 RBI's.

The Tribe also got a big boost to their pitching rotation, when it was announced that Chris Haddeland would be returning to Swift Current this season.

Haddeland last suited up for the Tribe in 2013. He recorded a 5-3 recorded, while posting a 2.05 ERA in the regular season. The McMinville, Oregon native spent the past year in his home state, playing at Linfield College.

As always, this year's team will also feature some home grown talent, including Reid Fritzke and Chad Schultz.

First Pitch for tomorrow night's season opener is scheduled for 7:05pm from Mitchell Field.
