They did it, but by the skin of their teeth last night in Weyburn.

The Swift Current Indians will post the best regular season record in the WMBL, thanks to a 5-4 win in Weyburn over the Beavers last night.

Up 5-2 in the bottom of the 9th inning, the Beavers mounted a rally as they pulled it to 5-4 with the tying run on third base.  Indians' closing Pitcher Wandy Rosario was able to get the game-ending strikeout to preserve the win.

Conrad Funk had a huge night at the plate going 5-for-5 with the game-winning RBI.  Shawn Lee hit a solo HR in the victory.

The win leaves the Indians with a season record of 26-10, mere percentage points better than the Okotoks Dawgs who still have one game remaining in the regular season.

The Indians now get set for playoffs.  They host Yorkton in game one of the best-of-five, first-round series Friday night at Mitchell Field.
