Despite a chance to lock up the top seed in the WMBL East Division, the Swift Current Indians were unable to get by the Yorkton Cardinals.

Yorkton used a pair of runs in the first inning, as well as two more in the seventh inning to pick up a 4-2 victory over the Tribe.

For Swift Current, they were never quite able to find the key hit to put them over the top, leaving a total of 9 base runners stranded.

Bodie Cooper and Thomas DeBonville had the two Indians' RBI's in the loss.

Despite the defeat, Swift Current still leads Yorkton by three games with four left on the schedule.

The Tribe will visit Melville Monday in a make-up game.
