A fourth, a fifth, and a sixth place finish was the result for three southwest high school soccer teams battling at their respective Provincial championships over the weekend.


The Swift Current Comp Colts placed fourth at 3A Boys Provincials.

The Colts defeated Saskatoon's Aden Bowman Collegiate 3-2 in their opener.

Swift Current was shut out in their second game, a 1-0 result with Warman in the semi-final, bumping them down to the bronze medal game.

The Colts were doubled up 4-2 in the bronze by Prince Albert Carlton.


The Herbert Laurels boys team finished fifth in Lake Lenore at 1A Boys Provincials, claiming the title of consolation side winners.

Herbert was edged 3-2 in their opener by Osler, but rebounded with a high-scoring 6-4 win over Lanigan.

In their final game, the Laurels won 4-2 over Maymont.


The Swift Current Comp Ardens placed sixth at 3A Girls Provincials in Prince Albert.

The Ardens were thumped 9-0 to open play against the defending champions from Saskatoon St. Joseph.

Swift earned a comfortable 4-1 win over Prince Albert Carlton to bounce back, and earn a spot in the fifth-place game.

There, the Ardens lost 6-3 to Regina Campbell.
