What an end to the South Saskatchewan Lacrosse League season for Swift Current Rampage teams.

Out of the six Rampage teams in Estevan for the league playoff tourney over the Novice, Pee Wee, Bantam, and Midget divisions, Swift Current earned two championships and five total medals.

Up next for the Bantam Rampage teams is the Canada Cup in Calgary this coming weekend, while provincials for Pee Wee, Bantam, and Midget teams is the following weekend.

Novice Rampage (Tuesday-Thursday):

The Rampage TT defeated the Moose Jaw Mustangs 1, advancing to the Upper Bracket final, with a spot in the championship on the line.

However, the Moose Jaw Mustangs 2 topped Swift Current in that game, dropping the Rampage TT into the Lower Bracket final against the Novice Rampage MW.

The winner of the tilt earned the second spot in the championship, and the Rampage TT weren't denied again.

The Rampage TT and MW battled to a 1-1 effort at the end of regulation, with Rampage TT winning in a shootout.

Into the championship game against the Moose Jaw Mustangs 2, Swift Current needed to win via double knockout to take gold.

That's exactly what they did.

The Rampage TT won 8-7 in OT in the first game, then in a 10-minute mini game, shut out the Mustangs 2 in a 3-0 effort to win it all.

Novice Rampage (Monday-Wednesday):

In their opener, Swift Current lost to the Moose Jaw Mustangs 2, dropping them down into the lower bracket battle.

There, the Rampage MW won two straight tilts to take on the Rampage TT with a spot in the championship game on the line.

Falling in the aforementioned thriller, the Rampage MW earned bronze in the effort.

Pee Wee Rampage:

The Rampage had the shortest road to a potential spot in the championship, heading into the weekend already holding a spot in the Upper Bracket final.

Swift Current defeated the Weyburn Thrashers in that game, eventually having a rematch again in the championship game after Weyburn battled back in the Lower Bracket.

In the final, the Rampage defeated the Thrashers for the Pee Wee championship.

Bantam Rampage 1:

The Rampage topped the Estevan Voltz 7-6 in their first game of the weekend, setting up a battle in the Upper Bracket final.

With a spot in the championship game gifted to the winner, Rampage 1 and the Moose Jaw Mustangs faced off.

Moose Jaw advanced with a 3-2 OT win, sending Rampage 1 to the Lower Bracket final.

Looking to earn the second spot in the title game, Rampage 1 defeated Rampage 2 to have a crack at revenge.

Again, though, the Mustangs narrowly edged Rampage 1 in the championship game in a 2-1 decision, handing Rampage 1 the silver medal.

Bantam Rampage 2:

Swift Current fell in their weekend opener, an Upper Bracket semi-final against the Moose Jaw Mustangs.

The loss against the eventual league champs dropped Rampage 2 into the Lower Bracket.

The Rampage 2 quickly regrouped with wins over the Regina Outlaws and Weyburn Thrashers, carrying them into the previously-mentioned Lower Bracket final.

The loss to Rampage 1 meant a bronze-medal finish for Rampage 2.

Midget Rampage:

Swift Current lost Game 1, an Upper Bracket semi-final to the Regina Attack, dropping them down into the Lower Bracket.

They managed a win over the Estevan Voltz to advance to take on the Regina Snipers.

However, a 7-5 loss handed the Midget Rampage a fourth-place finish, while the Snipers went on to fall in the Lower Bracket final for bronze.
