In last night's final draw at the Men's Southern Curling Playdown at the Credit Union iPlex, a pair of Swift Current local rinks picked up wins, while one was eliminated from the event.

After dropping their first game of the playdown yesterday afternoon, Team Kirkpatrick managed to bounce back last night, defeating Kinderlsey's Jesse St. John 10-8.

The two teams traded two-enders and three-enders in the first four ends of the game, before Kirkpatrick took control with a steal of one in the fifth, three points in the seventh and another single in the ninth.

With the win, Kirkpatrick now moves into the 'B' Semi-Final, which he will play this morning at 10:00am against Fox Valley's Ryan Deis.

Meanwhile, in an all Swift Current battle, Reagan Hadden eliminated Clayton Wicks with a 9-5 victory.

Tied 4-4 at the fifth end break, Hadden stole three points in the sixth and another point in the seventh to build a comfortable four point lead with just three end remaining.

Hadden now moves on in the 'C' bracket.

He will also be back on the ice at 10:00am this morning to take on Lampman's Mark Walter, who defeated Hadden in the tournament's opening draw.

Following this morning's draw, the event will continue today with two more draws at 2:00pm and 7:00pm.

The 'A' side qualifier was also determined last night as Regina's Scott Bitz earned a provincial berth with a 6-5 win over Estevan's Brent Gedak.
