The Swift Current 57's cashed in early and often Tuesday night when they host the Brooks Bombers.

Playing in front of a crowd of 523 people at Mitchell Field, the 57's downed the Bombers in their first of two meetings this summer, 7-5.

Infielder Grant Van Scoy hit his second home-run of the season and drove in two runs, while outfielder Thomas DeBonville picked up his first two RBI's of the season in just his second game back in Swift Current, to help lead the 57's on offense.

On the mound, 57's pitcher Dustin Wells continued his trend of winning and turning in quality starts.

Since arriving in Swift Current almost a month ago, the Glendale, Arizona native has done nothing but win.

Wells delivered seven innings, allowing three runs (only two earned) on nine hits and a walk, while striking out three, en route to his fourth win in as many starts.

Brooks was able to get to Wells early for a run in the top of the first, however, Swift Current's offense quickly erased the deficit.

In the bottom of the 2nd, John Baiada singled to center to tie the game, before a Grant Van Scoy RBI groundout gave the 57's a 2-1 lead.

Swift Current increased the lead to 3-1 in the 3rd inning, thanks to a Bodie Cooper RBI single, and then added two more runs in the 4th after the Bombers trimmed the lead to 3-2 in the top half of the inning. The first of the two runs came on Van Scoy's second home-run of the season, before a Bondarchuk single and an error by the Brooks pitcher allowed Riley Campbell to score all the way from first base.

Leading 5-3 entering the bottom of the 7th, DeBonville ripped a clutch two-out, two-RBI single to give the 57's some breathing room.

Coming out of the bullpen in relief, Aidan Goodall made his 16th appearance of the season.

He allowed one run on two hits in his lone inning of work.

Leading 7-4 heading into the top of the 9th, Keil Krumwiede took the mound in search of his third save of the season.

Despite giving up an unearned run, Krumwiede struck-out a pair and got a 5-3 groundout to earn the save and secure the 57's second straight victory.

With the win, Swift Current and Regina continue to keep stride-for-stride with each other.

The Red Sox were also victorious Tuesday night, rolling past the Fort McMurray Giants 26-7.

Both Regina and the 57's share identical 25-12 records and also share first place in the WMBL's East Division.

Swift Current will be back on the diamond Wednesday night when Brooks returns to Mitchell Field for the second half of their two-day doubleheader.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
