Tim Vanstone

Swift Current's Tim Vanstone had a surreal night as he made his WHL debut in his home arena... for the road team.

Vanstone is a Prince Albert draft pick and suited up with the Raiders for the first time last night.

He talked about the experience of walking into that dressing room.

“Seeing all the 19 year olds, 20's, and everybody older than me and you know watching them, being a fan, now you're being a player is pretty cool.

Vanstone said it meant a lot to him to see his name on the back of a WHL jersey.

“It was pretty cool...turn around the jersey and it says Vanstone on it. It's one of those things you work towards when you're Pee-Wee, going to Bantam, gettting drafted, and trying to make the squad next year.”

Vanstone put up 33 points in 38 regular season games with the Midget AAA Home Hardware Legionnaires.

He will be with the Legion as they start their playoffs on the road against the Prince Albert Mintos on Saturday.
