Taylor Vause

Broncos Captain Taylor Vause has started his professional career in the American Hockey League.

Vause signed an Amateur Tryout Contract with Dallas's AHL affiliate the Texas Stars. He played his first game last night.

Broncos Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb hopes Vause capitalizes on his chance to extend his career..

“When you have a person like that and you have an idenitiy like that and people can learn from it's very positive, and hopefully he gets a good chance to move on in his hockey career.”

He was happy to see Vause have a breakout season.

“Look how far he's come this year, but it's his mentality and how he dedicated himself to being a real good player this year because he didn't want to accept not making the playoffs and not moving on into the future and that's a great example to learn by. He's a small guy but comes to play every night we need more guys like that.”

Vause, wearing #19, had one shot on goal and an even plus/minus as Texas lost 5-2 to Abbotsford.

He had a career high 83 points in the final season of his WHL career.
