A former Swift Current Broncos head coach who led the WHL club to the promised land has reeled in another professional coaching job.

It was announced this afternoon by the Henderson Silver Knights, the AHL affiliate for the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights, that Manny Viveiros will be the franchise's first head coach.

The 54-year-old spent last season in the WHL coaching to the Spokane Chiefs to a 41-18-0-5 record good enough for the fourth-best record in the 22 team league.

He coached the Broncos for two seasons before departing the hockey club after leading them to the WHL title in 2017-18 snapping a 25-year drought the club had gone without hoisting the Ed Chynoweth Cup.

In between his gig with the Broncos and Chiefs he spent 2018-19 as an assistant coach with the Edmonton Oilers.
