The first annual WOOF Volleyball Camp wraps up today at the the Swift Current Comp High School.

On Monday and Tuesday players from grades 6 to 8 spent the days on the court, while high school aged players took over Wednesday and Thursday.

Dan Andrie Interview"The purpose is just to get some of the young guys in," said Comp men's volleyball coach Dan Andrie. "We have some coaches here to work on some basic skills."

"For the older kids not only to get ready for the upcoming season, but to teach them and coach some advanced things. Some tactical stuff and skills so they're ready to go for the volleyball season."

"I think with the help not only of this camp but of our junior SunDogs volleyball program we developed we're seeing a lot of kids come out," Andrie said. "We're trying to get that skill built so that in the future we can have not only competitive teams, but hopefully get athletes skileld enough so they can do something with it after school."

Andrie and Women's Ardens Team Head Coach Chelsea Hassett are the coordinators of the camp.

Over 110 athletes joined the camp over the four days. That's a similar number as they had for a camp last summer.

The camp is named in honour of long-time comp men's team coach Brian Woof.
