Dale Vossen Pats

The new Coach of the Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires has a simple explanation for getting back behind the bench for the first time in a decade...

“I've still got the desire to coach. I love hockey.”

Dale Vossen wants to bring a habit and culture of winning to the Midget AAA club, “Winning breeds winning and when you win people want to be part of that night. It's fun coming to the rink when you win and thats what I want to instill here. We want to win hockey games, whats happened in the past is in the past I'm not gonna go back to last year, not going back five years were moving ahead here.”

Vossen said he wants to make the program into a destination for young talent, “I just want guys that want to be here, I want this program to become the program it was when I coached against Swift Current teams and Trent McCleary and Trevor Schmiess days I remember them well thats what I think we have to bring back here. If we can win the first year, win a couple years here, its so much easier to recruit players when you have a winning program and people will be phoning us instead of us phoning them.”

The veteran coach has been an assistant at the AAA and WHL level, and a head coach throughout minor hockey.
