Evan Vossen

Swift Current's Evan Vossen knows all too well the impact the NHL lockout has had on young players fighting for professional hockey jobs.

The first year pro signed with Stockton in the ECHL over the summer but as the league was filled with AHL and even some NHL quality players due to the lockout, he never got into a game.

Full Interview with Evan Vossen"It was tough, you know being there and seeing guys signing and guys who were really good hockey players in the east coast and should be playing in the AHL," said Vossen. "I mean I'm in the same boat with a lot of guys especially this year and being a first year pro trying to cut his teeth and what not."

Vossen then played 2 ECHL games with Utah and scored a goal in the process.

After being released from that tryout Vossen signed with the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League.

The former McGill University Captain is impressed by the organization so far and looks forward to getting into game action.
