Dale Vossen is the new Head Coach of the Midget AAA Home Hardware Legionnaires.

He has tasted success at the AAA level before as an Assistant Coach with the Regina Pat Canadians for two seasons in the late 80s. In 1988 they won the Air Canada Cup as national champions. They reached the final in 1989.

Vossen then made the move up to the WHL where he was an Assistant Coach for the Regina Pats under Brad Tippett in 1991-92.

In Swift Current, Vossen spent a season as the Head Coach of the K-Motel Midget AA Hurricanes ten years ago. It was during that season he was able to coach his son Evan who would go on to an excellent junior and college career. Evan recently scored the OT winner for McGill in his final game of CIS hockey to win their first national championship.

Dale has been involved on and off with La Ronge of the SJHL as a scout since the founding of the organization. He has also been a scout for the Pats and the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL.

Kim Bachek, who is also Swift Current Minor Hockey's Midget rep, will be the General Manager and run the office. Brad Woods will stay with the organization in a front office capacity handling sponsorship and communications.

Vossen takes over for Jason Johns who was let go following Swift Current's first round exit. It was the first trip to the playoffs for the Legionnaires in eight years, but they ended under a cloud of turmoil on an extended losing streak.
