Every young hockey player dreams about it.

Scoring the game winning goal in overtime of the championship game.

Swift Current's Evan Vossen lived out that dream leading his McGill Redmen to the CIS hockey championship over Western last Sunday.

"Growing up you always dream of being that hero," Vossen said. "I was just lucky enough to get that. Some people have been saying you couldn't (write) a better script. It's storybook. It's a great feeling and I'm very proud of our accomplishment.

It was the final game of Vossen's college career and he went out on top as the first captain of a University Cup winner at McGill.

He played five seasons at McGill after spending his junior days with La Ronge of the SJHL.

Vossen is hoping to continue his hockey career next season and he'll be exploring his options.
