Swift Current's Brett Ward scored in triple overtime to give the University of Saskatchewan a 2-1 win over Calgary in the third and deciding game of the Canada West hockey final.

Ward's goal ended the longest game in conference history. It's Saskatchewan's first Canada West crown since 2006-07.

The win sends the Huskies on a trip to the University Cup March 21-25 in Fredericton.

The Huskies feature former members of the Swift Current Midget AAA Home Hardware Legionnaires, Andrew Bailey, Shayne Neigum and Ward.

They also have former Broncos Kyle Bortis and Travis Brisebois on the roster.
