The Moose Jaw Warriors scored four goals and rolled to a series clinching 5-2 win over the Regina Pats on Friday night at Mosaic Place.

The Warriors win the series 4 games to 1 and will face the Medicine Hat Tigers in the second round starting next Friday.

20-year-old foward James Henry had a goal and two points to lead the way for the Warriors, while Dallas Ehrhardt and Cam Braes each picked up a pair of assists in the win.

The tribe got Mosaic Place rocking early and often in Game 5 with Justin Kirsch scoring just 16 seconds in; Five minutes later, Brayden Point would make it 2-0 for Moose Jaw, the third straight game with a goal for the 16-year-old; Torrin White added to Moose Jaw less than three minutes later; and Cody Beach finished off the first period scoring for Moose Jaw on the power play, sending the Warriors fans into a frenzy.

The Pats started to battle back in the second and after getting outshot through the first 21 minutes of the game, Trent Ouellette found the back of the net midway through the frame. Regina’s Lane Scheidl scored again 7:51 into the third period to cut Moose Jaw’s lead to 4-2.

The Warriors clamped down from there and James Henry sealed the series with 3:33 to go.  Cody Beach was stopped on a penalty shot late in the game by Adam Beukeboom, who played well in place of the injured Matt Hewitt, making 27 saves in the Pats season finale.
