The Moose Jaw Warriors lost a member of their organization this week with the passing of 16-year-old prospect Ethan Williams.

“Our entire organization is very saddened today with the news of Ethan Williams’ passing. Ethan was a fine young man, and a very talented hockey player,” said general manager Alan Millar in a statement released on Wednesday. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris and Shannon and the entire Williams family during this difficult time.”

Williams was originally drafted by the Warriors in the fifth round, 90th overall, in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. He scored in his first pre-season game in 2012 against the Swift Current Broncos, and appeared in one regular season game with Moose Jaw.

This past season, he posted four goals and eight points in 23 games with the Winnipeg Thrashers in the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League.
