For the first time in 555 days, the Swift Current Broncos took to the ice at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex for a WHL contest, however, the end result in clubs first pre-season game of the year wasn't an ideal one.

The Moose Jaw Warriors scored early and often led by two goal outings from Kade Runke and Nathan Pilling en route to a 6-1 win.

Runke opened the scoring for Moose Jaw just over five minutes into the game and as the goal was being announced Cade Hayes stretched the Warriors lead to 2-0.

The Broncos would get one back before the end of the period as Owen Pickering finished off a nice passing play cutting the deficit to 2-1.

That's as close as Swift Current would get, as the Warriors took advantage of an undisicpline Broncos squad burrying a trio of powerplay markers in the second frame to stretch the lead to 5-1.

In the third period Pilling would net his second of the game completing the scoring for the night and helping propel the Warriors to a 6-1 victory.

Broncos netminder Joey Rocha was busy in between the pipes stopping 43 of 49 shots against, while Swift Current only mustard up 15 shots towards Warriors goalie Brett Mirwald.

The pair of teams will rematch tomorrow night in Moose Jaw at Mosaic Place.
