The recent cooler temperatures and snow have pushed local golf courses back to start the season.

Over at the Elmwood Golf Club, the planned start date of this Friday could be changed because of the recent weather that arrived over the weekend.  "I would say so yes, it's definitely put a damper on those avid golfers that want to get out there.  We were open two weeks earlier last year.  It's put golfers behind the eight-ball early on in the season," commented General Manager Sheldon Reinhart.

He remains optimistic though, "If we get going here at the end of April, we still have five months of the season and that's what golfers have to look forward to.  Before you know it, you'll be putting on the sunscreen."
