Legionnaires Contacts 2013 copy

A tough weekend for the Swift Current Midget AAA Home Hardware Legionnaires as they fell 6-2 and 5-1 to the Saskatoon Contacts.

"Our guys weren't ready to play," said Legionnaires Coach Dale Vossen. "I'm not making excuses for guys anymore I can't. This is game twelve and some guys got exposed today about their dedication and their game preparation."

Morgan Greve, Kolby Johnson and Brody Doepker scored for the Legionnaires.

Shaunavon product Kole Lind scored once on Saturday for the Contacts.

The Legionnaires were on the penalty kill seventeen times in Sunday's loss.

"We talked about being physical but not about taking personal penalties," Vossen said. "It's trying when you're playing 5 on 3 or 5 on 4. I like the fact that the guys didn't give up. Some younger guys got an opportunity to show they want to kill penalties, they're willing to pay the price and they'll be rewarded down the road for their dedication."

They're home to Regina on Tuesday at the Credit Union iPlex.

The Midget AA K-Motel Hurricanes are still undefeated after 4-0 and 4-2 wins over the Notre Dame Argos.

"We got the job done," said Hurricanes Coach Greg Hurrell. "We've got four solid lines and the boys battled hard."

"I'm happy. We're in first place, we're a very talented hockey team and the boys have to get used to playing with some confidence."

Jordan Wittman had a four assist weekend, while Colton Adam scored twice and had an assist over the two games.

The Hurricanes are 7-0-1 on the season and host Regina on Wednesday at Fairview West Arena.

Things have gone the other way for the Kabos Bantam AA Raiders as they've yet to taste victory this season.

The Raiders fell 9-3 and 6-5 to the Regina Foxes.

Hunter Lamb had a hat trick in a losing cause for the Raiders on Sunday. Tyde Hutchinson had a five point weekend.

The 0-10 Raiders get a break from league play until November 13th.
