Former Swift Current Broncos forward Dale Weise played hero for the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday.

Weise tied the game late in the third period and then won it in overtime as the Habs beat Ottawa 2-1 to secure a 3-0 series lead on the Senators.

Ottawa was six minutes away from winning their first game of the series when Weise gloved down a puck in front of the Senators' net and fired it by Craig Anderson.

In overtime the Winnipeg product took a puck that was chipped off the glass and fired a low wrist shot knee-high by Anderson to give Montreal complete command of the first-round NHL playoff series.

That's the second playoff overtime winner of Weise's young Montreal career.
