The latest round of the battle of Swift Current Broncos alumni went to Dale Weise and the Montreal Canadiens.
Weise's Habs beat Zack Smith's Ottawa Senators 2-0 on Sunday to earn a 4-2 first round series win.
Weise scored twice in the series for Montreal, while Smith was held pointless in the three games he played for Ottawa.
The Canadiens now move on to face the winner of the series between the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning.
The other Broncos alumnus left standing in the playoffs is Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Michal Rozsival.
Chicago beat Nashville 4-2 in their first round series and will play Minnesota in the second round.
