The Western Hockey League is set to open Shaunavon's Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre in style.

Local product Dyson Stevenson will lead the Regina Pats against the Medicine Hat Tigers tonight.

Stevenson says the Wickenheiser Centre is a terrific new facility.

The game had been set up as a battle of teams with Shaunavon connections, but Tigers forward Kale Kessy has to miss it to attend the start of Phoenix Coyotes training camp. He was drafted by Phoenix in June.

Ticket sales will be cut off at noon today. They are available at the Shaunavon Credit Union, Royal Bank, CIBC or at the town office.

In other WHL action tonight, the Swift Current Broncos host the Saskatoon Blades with a portion of the proceeds going to the Dr.Noble Irwin Foundation.
