Shaunavon's most famous athlete has added another honour to her legacy.

Hayley Wickenheiser's four points helped lead the University of Calgary Dinos to their first CIS women's hockey championship over the weekend.

It was hard for her to say where the win stands in her storied career.

"Right up there I'd have to say," Wickenheiser said. "The girls on my team are asking me if this is what the Olympics are like and for them it was winning the Olympics, for me it was the same kind of feeling you go through the ups and downs of the season you work with your team so much"

The Dionos weren't expected to win it all.

“For us to win and have the season we had with a team that was pretty underated and not a lot of super top end skill I thought we had a really sucessful year and the girls acheived everything they could.

Swift Current's Jenna Smith also played for the Dinos.

Wickenheiser will next head to Ottawa in a couple of weeks to prepare for the World Hockey Championship.

Her rivals from the US are two-time defending champions of that tournament.
