Hayley Wickenheiser

Hayley Wickenheiser is taking another run at a World Women's Hockey Championship.

The Shaunavon native has made the team for the 11th time and said her competitive spirit is still strong, “Winning never gets old, the drive to succeed somedays it's more challenging than others, I think as you get older as an athlete you have to find different ways to motivate yourself and keep yourself on your toes and out of your comfort zone because it would be easy to get comfortable.”

There is some extra motivation for the women's hockey legend, “We've got some unfinished business there. We've lost to the Americans two years in a row by a overtime loss in one year by one goal the year before. We lost some pretty tight games and we'd like to not keep it that close this year and go in and dominate them. We've got some more experience behind us now and I think the team can do it.” said Wickenheiser

Wickenheiser joins ten other members of the 2010 Olympic gold medal winning roster on this year's team. Canada hasn't won the world championship since 2007.

Swift Current's Bobbi-Jo Slusar didn't go to the selection camp this year due to injury.
