It has almost become a formality for the Swift Current Indians.

Every time Luke Wiechec starts for the Tribe, they are probably going to win.

The Mountain View, California native fired seven innings of three run ball Thursday night, as Swift Current defeated Regina 8-3.

The victory improved Wiechec's record to 6-0, while the Indians improved to 8-1 when he starts.

Alex Schultz and Bodie Cooper both went deep for Swift Current, which proved to be plenty of support for Wiechec.

Schultz's three-run shot gave Swift Current an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, while Cooper's home-run extended the Tribe's lead of 5-3 to 8-3 in the bottom of the fourth.

With their victory, combined with Yorkton's 11-3 loss to Moose Jaw, Swift Current's magic number to clinch the East now sits at three games, with six remaining on the schedule.
