The Swift Current Broncos have lost another piece that was part of their team for the WHL title last year.

Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations for the Swift Current Broncos Dean Brockman confirmed the news earlier today.

"Basically decided that he wanted to play closer to home and felt he wanted to go back there and we certainly weren't going to stop him," Brockman said.

Wight played in 20 of the team's 26 playoff games last year and didn't hit the scoresheet.

"Well he's certainly a guy that worked hard and competed and certainly played as hard as he could," Brockman said. "He was just one of those guys that could play in a lot of different situations."

The Chilliwack, B.C. product skated in parts of three seasons with the Broncos playing a 68 regular season games scoring twice and recording five points in that time.

Wight also appeared on the Broncos 2016-17 playoff roster for 12 games netting his lone WHL playoff goal.
