A busy weekend of three games in three days lies ahead for the Diamond Energy Female Midget AAA Wildcats.

Coming off of a team-building weekend away from league play in Kimberley, B.C., the Wildcats (3-1) jump right back into the middle of the action, as they host the Notre Dame Hounds (0-0) tonight at Fairview West.

The Wildcats are then headed on the bus to Prince Albert for a Saturday and Sunday match-up with the Prince Albert Northern Bears (2-0).

Wildcats head coach Terry Pavely says he looks forward to a challenging weekend for his team.

"Notre Dame's got really good goaltending, and I think they're going to be better than they were last year, and we know that P.A. is going to be right at the top of the league," Pavely said. "It's a good, hard weekend for us, and I think that's a good test for us - not just on the ice, but also mentally, to see how we handle three games in three days against good competition."

The Wildcats' offense has clicked so far in 2017-18, out-scoring opponents 18-6 in their four games.

Wanting his team to round out their game early in the season, the Wildcats' head coach says they need to continue to fix a few key aspects, as well as some they haven't focused on too much at this point.

"Our special teams have to start to get better, and we work a little bit more with our power play units, we work with our penalty kill," Pavely said. "Then, start working on how we want to break out off of faceoffs in our zone, and how we want to fore-check."

Puck drop at Fairview West tonight between the Wildcats and Notre Dame Hounds is 8 p.m.
