A U18 Women's World Hockey Championship bronze medal will be making its way from Dmitrov, Russia, back to southwest Saskatchewan in the coming days.

Diamond Energy Wildcats captain Taylor Kirwan and Team Canada downed the host Russians 5-1 in the bronze medal game.

The win caps off a revenge game of sorts, after Canada fell 3-2 in the tournament opener to that same Russian squad.

Kirwan finishes the tournament with no points, but did nab a "Player of the Game" award from a 6-2 round-robin loss to the United States.

Meanwhile her Wildcats squad is in the provincial capital back home in Saskatchewan for a weekend set with the Regina Rebels.
