A member of the female Midget AAA Diamond Energy Wildcats has reached the next step of her hockey career.

Swift Current's Jill Kennedy has signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Regina.

Her coach, Terry Pavely says it should be a great partnership between Kennedy and the U of R. "I think it's a really good fit for her. She's played two years in our program and has just made tremendous strides," he says.

Kennedy scored 22 points in 28 regular season games this season. That's a major improvement from the 8 points she put up with the Wildcats last season.

The Wildcats start their playoffs in Saskatoon on Saturday.
