The Diamond Energy Female Midget Wildcats sit on top of the league standings thanks to two big wins over Prince Albert this weekend.

Dayna Winzer had a goal and an assist, and Kaci Jones, Chloe Smith and Merissa Zerr also scored as the Wildcats beat the Bears 4-1 on Saturday, then Winzer and Jessica Pele scored for Swift Current and Jasey Book made 28 saves for the shutout in a 2-0 win on Sunday.

"I thought it was a good test for us," said Wildcats Coach Terry Pavely. "We know PA is probably going to be a good team again this year, and it's a good way to end the weekend, sitting in first place. We know that it's early in the year and there's a long way to go, but we're really happy with the way our team is playing right now."

The Wildcats also held their "Cats for the Cure" game for Breast Cancer research on Saturday, where they raised $650 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
