The Wildcats going to work in practice

McKenzie Tuba scored midway through the third period on the power play to lift Melville over Swift Current in female Midget AAA action on Saturday. The loss dropped the Diamond Energy Wildcats to 1-3 on the season.

All three goals in the game were scored on the power play. Brooklyn McKenna opened the scoring for Melville before Keely Chalk responded late in the second period for the Wildcats.

Brooklyn Weigeber made 22 saves for Swift Current in a losing cause.

Both clubs had trouble with discipline as the Wildcats killed 9 penalties and Melville was shorthanded 8 times. They will hook up again on Sunday afternoon at the Fairview West Arena. Puck drop is at 3pm.

Elsewhere, in Midget AA boys hockey, the Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes beat Yorkton 3-0.
