The Diamond Energy Female Midget Wildcats finished just short of the playoffs at the Mac's Midget Tournament in Calgary, wrapping up round-robin play with a 1-1 tie against the Northern Cougars Tuesday afternoon.

Tori Kendall scored for the Wildcats and Jasey Book made 10 saves for the tie as Swift Current outshot their opponent 27-11.

The Wildcats finished with a win and three ties at the week-long tournament, finishing third in their pool with just the three top-finishers and a wild-card second-place team making the semi-finals.

It was the Wildcats' sixth appearance at the tournament, and they last won it in 2009.

They'll return to Saskatchewan on January 10th when they visit the National Champion Weyburn Gold Wings for the start of a two-game road swing. Their next home game is on the 14th against Notre Dame.
